The Woodlands stands out with the 24th best job market in the US.

The Woodlands has the 24th best job market in the country, according to study

The Woodlands received a special mention this week after a report revealed that it is among the top 25 job markets in the country, ranking 24th.

The SmartAsset study evaluated several factors, including unemployment rates, the ratio of income to housing costs, commute time, and the percentage of remote workers in the community.

The Woodlands saw record job growth last year, driven by the health sector, education and growth in the energy sector after a decline in recent years, according to Gil Staley of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership.

Housing costs remain a topic of debate, with the median home price in The Woodlands being 1.5 times the national average, according to another study. Despite this, the area around The Woodlands continues to offer affordable housing options, Staley said.

The average commute time is about 27 minutes, and only 24.5 percent of the local workforce works remotely. However, Staley noted that nearly half of the area's major employers have adopted some type of hybrid work model.

The most relevant thing is that The Woodlands far surpassed Houston, which was ranked 272.
